# Ask

> Ask Iron Octopus about your work, and use ⌘K to get anywhere fast.

Ask lets you ask Iron Octopus questions about your work in plain words. ⌘K gets you to anything in the app, or starts something new, from the keyboard.

## Ask Iron Octopus

Open Ask from **Ask Iron Octopus** on a project page, or press ⌘K and type your question. Ask knows where you are: on a project page it answers about that project, and on a feature page about that feature.

Good questions to ask:

* "What's waiting on me this week?"
* "Why is the calendar feature taking so long?"
* "What did review send back on the client portal?"

Ask answers questions. It doesn't change anything in your workspace, so you can ask freely.

## Ask why

When something under **Needs you** has failed or is stuck, click **Ask why** on its card. Ask opens with that question already asked about that feature.

## ⌘K

Press ⌘K anywhere in the app to:

* **Go somewhere**: Home, a project, project or workspace settings, account settings, or work in progress.
* **Open anything by its ID**: type `BKG-F012` to open that feature, or `BKG` to open the project.
* **Start something**: draft a feature from what you type, start a new feature or idea chat in a project, or create a project.
* **Ask Iron Octopus** about what you've typed.
