# Account settings

> Your own settings: your name, password, color palette, and the workspaces you belong to.

Account settings belong to you, not your workspace: your name, your sign-in, how Iron Octopus looks, and the workspaces you're in. Open them with ⌘K › **Account settings**.

## Profile

How you appear to the people you work with.

* **First name** and **Last name** are both required.
* **Email address** is your sign-in email. You can't change it here. Change it in your sign-in account.

Save your changes, and the page confirms **Profile saved**.

## Security

### Change your password

**1. Enter your current password**

Under **Change password**, enter your **Current password**.

**2. Choose a new one**

Enter a **New password** of at least 8 characters, and type it again in **Confirm new password**.

**3. Save**

The page confirms **Password changed**.

If you sign in with Google or GitHub, manage your password with that provider instead.

### Delete your account

Deleting your account also removes you from every workspace. You can't do it yourself. Ask the Iron Octopus team through your workspace's [Support](https://docs.ironoctopus.ai/account/support.md) settings.

## Appearance

Choose a **Color palette** for Iron Octopus. It applies right away and is remembered in this browser, so set it again on another device. Click **Undo** to go back to the previous palette.

## Workspaces

**Your workspaces** lists every workspace you belong to. Switch between them from the menu at the top of the left navigation.

* **Join a workspace:** accept the invitation from the secure link in the invitation email. Invitations waiting for you are listed here, but you accept them from the email.
* **Create a workspace:** click **Create workspace**. A new workspace needs its own subscription.
* **Settings** opens a workspace's settings, if your role allows it.

## If something goes wrong

| You see | What to do |

| **First and last name are both required.** | Fill in both names. |
| **Use at least 8 characters.** | Choose a longer password. |
| **The two new passwords do not match.** | Type the new password again in both fields. |
| **Invitations could not be loaded. Refresh to try again.** | Refresh the page. Your invitation email still works. |
